In August 2008, enthusiastic about a new opportunity, Elbert “Ellie” Hepburn along with his mother, Janet Shepherd, launched Elnet Maritime Limited. On August 27th, 2008, Elnet received its first agency appointment for the chartered tanker Dhonoussa that was birthing at the BORCO Terminal.
In August 2014, Elnet entered the global offshore oil and gas industry with the launch of Elnet Lightering services. Elnet Lightering facilitates the process of ship-to-ship transfer of oil and liquefied gas cargo.
In August 2018, Elnet Maritime broke ground for the Elnet Maritime Center.
In 2021, Elnet partnered with the oil conglomerate, Shell, to provide offshore bunkering services marking a significant milestone in the energy industry. Elnet Maritime Ltd. moved its offices to the newly constructed Elnet Maritime Center (EMC), a 12,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art, multi-functional business facility.
In 2022, Elnet Maritime became a platinum member of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA).
