Elnet Giving Back – GB Children’s Home
On Saturday November 24, 2012 the Management and Staff of Elnet Maritime hosted their annual community Thanksgiving festivities. The recipients were the children from the Grand Bahama Children’s Home. Approximately twelve (12) kids from the G.B. Children’s Home were treated to a day of fun. They sang a song of thanksgiving and were prayed for by a minister (Pastor Audley Swain). Afterwards they had fun on the bouncing castle and the slide. They were pleasantly surprised by special appearances by their favorite cartoon characters Sponge Bob, Dora and Elmo.
The children also enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving meal of ham, turkey, peas and rice, macaroni, coleslaw, candied yams and stuffing. For dessert they feasted on guava muffins and chocolate cupcakes. This meal was served by the staff of Elnet Maritime. The children were also given gift bags. A specially designed Elnet Maritime coloring book and other little gifts were included in the bags.
The CEO Mr. Hepburn says that at this time of year he is especially thankful for God’s blessings upon his business. He’s most grateful for what God has blessed him with and is happy to put a smile on the faces of others.
He understands the important role that business leaders play in positively impacting the lives of those in the community who may not be as fortunate as they are. He sees this act of kindness as a great opportunity for his company and its employees to make a difference in the lives of others. He also noted that he plans to continue his community involvement through other projects.
